Kilims
Kilims are flat-woven rugs that can be defined as two-dimensional textiles.
Unlike knotted rugs, these do not have a pile. The design is achieved by interlacing the fibers of different colors that make up the weft and the warp. Each type of Kilim has a design and characteristics in common, such as figures, colors, and textures. The different types are defined according to the tribe that weaves them, and thus, we can name Kilims after tribes such as Ghouchan, Sirdjan, Varni, Afschari, and Soumak, among others.
